Sometimes you’re ready for a trip but don’t want to shell out tons of money, and when you feel like that you are not alone. Here are some of the most affordable towns in the U.S. to head to for a vacation.
Las Vegas
Las Vegas Nevada is a great town to visit on the cheap because there is tons to do but also really inexpensive accommodations available. In Vegas you can pick and choose where you would like to spend your money. For example, you could stay in a nice hotel and eat at quick bargain spots, or you could stay off the strip in a super cheap hotel and enjoy shows and nice meals.
Charlottesville
Charlottesville Virginia is full of wineries, coffee shops, and cute places to eat out. It is also home to Shenandoah National Park which has a gorgeous Skyline Drive that will cost you close to nothing.
Grand Rapids
Grand Rapids Michigan is home to 25 different craft breweries, making it the perfect spot for any beer lover to visit. If wine is more your thing, it’s only a 30 mile drive to the coast where you’ll find wineries, orchards, and berry farms.
Kansas City
Kansas City Missouri is an inexpensive town to visit with great food and lots of museums. There are over 100 different spots to get BBQ, 200 decorative fountains, live music, and sites like the Liberty Memorial.
San Antonio
San Antonio Texas is an inexpensive town to stay in and has a lot to do that doesn’t anything. The River Walk is a good spot to visit, and there are also a lot of missions open to the public like The Alamo.
Salt Lake City
Salt Lake City Utah is a great spot to visit when you want to take part in some snow sports or hit up some national parks. You can also buy a Connect Pass if you want to check out multiple museums and attractions while you’re there.
Memphis
Memphis Tennessee is the place to go when you’re looking to take in street art and lots of live music without paying much. The town is alive with energy, and there is plenty of BBQ to eat on the cheap.
Minneapolis
Minneapolis Minnesota has more than 200 miles of trails that are great for walking and biking, as well as seeing the state. There are 20 lakes and all kinds of fun things to do outdoors. They also have all kinds of random activities like discount date nights where you can bowl and get a bottle of wine with a date for only $28.
Baltimore
Baltimore Maryland houses the Baltimore Museum of Art which is free all day everyday. The city is great for walking and it’s pretty easy to get around. There is a wide variety of ethnic cuisine to try in the area, as well as lots of delicious crabs that are available all over the place.
Yes sometimes we neglect the smaller towns that have cultural significance right here in the U.S.
