Gone is my childhood but that is certainly filled with some fascinating and inspiring golden memories. My gorgeous Papa had the addiction to provide us with entertaining pastime during the weekends or when we had holidays. I started my schooling from Rawalpindi where we used to live due to our father’s official appointment as a bank officer. We stayed in Rawalpindi for 4 years and during this time, we had developed the habit to roam around and particularly to explore the delights of Islamabad, the federal capital of PakistanRose and Jasmine Garden of Islamabad was one of our most treasured destinations and how can we forget the chill from our visits to the oldest botanic gardens of Islamabad. Today I was wandering on different pages and suddenly I got some links about the Rose and Jasmine Garden. It refreshed my anamnesis and I decided to dedicate this post to my lovely juvenile entertainer, the Rose and Jasmine Garden of Islamabad.

Located near Aabpara, the Rose and Jasmine Garden of Islamabad is home to hundreds of varieties of roses and many other flowers. It also includes the species of Jasmine that are found a bit rare over there. After the entry, the fragrant environment of this phenomenal garden exhilarates the visitor’s mind who also gets embraced by the innovativeness of its beauty. Not only the natives but the families from all around Pakistan come to the garden for having fun and to observe the charm of the floriculture and horticulture of the federal capital.

The ideal time to make a visit to this garden is during autumn and spring when it is adorned by the authorities with exotic varieties of flora.  The Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Islamabad Horticulture Society play the most vital role for the embellishment of the Rose and Jasmine Garden of Islamabad during these seasons. Many other segments from the society like different government and semi government bodies and amateurs and floral societies make their appearance by exhibiting their floral presentations. The organizers also arrange fabulous floral stalls for the visitor interest. A Bird Show is also held every year in these festivals.

One thing more exceptional in the garden which still freshens my soul is the existence of a remarkable fountain. In summer standing by this fountain was one of our favorite hobbies and it still hosts to deodorize the minds and bodies of its guests through its airy waters. There is also a water lake inhabiting unique and colorful waterfowls to amuse the sightseers.

In the recent past, the authorities have made an attempt to change the aesthetics of the Rose and Jasmine Garden of Islamabad by erecting some structures based upon the historic Mughal patterns. The CDA is always planning to establish more gardens in Islamabad, however it should be remembered that the Rose and Jasmine Garden is the most historic one. My request to the authorities is to conserve the Rose and Jasmine Garden of Islamabad as the heritage to the federal capital.
