An adult rhinoceros mother can give birth to only one baby rhino after every three years on average. The baby rhinoceros is born after eighteen months of pregnancy and at the time of birth, baby rhino weighs about 30 to 40 kilograms. An amazing fact about the baby rhino is that it can stand upright after only 10 minutes of it’s birth and a couple of hours later it begins to suck. It sucks from its mother during 18 months, but it also begins to graze long before it stops sucking. The young rhino is so pretty and wonderful and it has no horn. The baby rhinoceros depends entirely on its mother. The mother protects the young carefully from each predator. From time to time the baby rhinoceros stays with its mother even after the birth of the second young, although at the age of three years the baby rhinoceros is already able to take care of itself alone.
