When you’re going for serious relaxation on a vacation in a warm environment, you might not want to stray far from the pool. Well these hotels have some of the best swim up bars that will save you from the hassle of having to get out of the water when you need a refill on your cocktail.
Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea
This pool is adults only, so you don’t have to worry about getting pool water splashed into your wine. It’s also an infinity pool looking out to the ocean, and there are whirlpools in it for added enjoyment. One thing to keep in mind at this Maui serenity pool is that getting a chair to lay on can sometimes take lining up at 7 AM to secure a spot. Cabanas however are also available for rental.
East Winds Inn
Does self service at a bar sound like your ideal situation? The swim up bar at the East Winds Inn in St. Lucia, Caribbean has just that, stocked with alcohols and mixers for any kind of drink you might like. The resort is an all inclusive one all together, which means that everything is up for grabs including all the food in the mini bar, and if you’re planning a day trip outside of the hotel the kitchen will pack you a lunch to take with you. Expect gourmet eats and superior customer service all the way around.
Hotel Mountain Paradise
In La Fortuna de San Carlos, Costa Rica, a great place to stay is Hotel Mountain Paradise. The hotel has a pool set amongst the trees and a swim up bar for your comfort. When booking a room try to get one as high up the hill as possible, since this will give you the best views. Not that the views aren’t great all over the grounds, the hotel restaurant is open air and offers views of the volcano.
Hotel Punta Islita
In Playa Samara, Costa Rica the Hotel Punta Islita has an amazing swim bar in their infinity pool. The hotel is located on top of a mountain so you can be sure that the views from that infinity pool are amazing. The hotel is also situated right by the pool for easy access. Since the hotel is located on top of the mountain you should be prepared for plenty of walking. You can call for golf card rides around the place but with a small wait you’re often better off walking anyway.
Got to love the “adult” pools that don’t let the kids in! Not that kids aren’t great, but they’re not always relaxing
I’ve been looking for a new vacation idea, this might do it.
I was at Hotel Mountain Paradise in Costa Rica just 3 months ago and yeah, their swim up bar is the best. Besides the great wines and beverages, I also loved their spas and steam baths. I highly recommend the place and the other hotels in this list.
