Skiing is such a great winter sport, and there are really tons of places to do it. From beginning skiers to professional level, here are some of the best spots for ski trips across the world.
Revelstoke, Canada
Revelstoke is a very small town and the mountain ski lodge is even smaller, but there are some awesome ski trails. The area is popular for its variety of tree skiing spots and powdery steep open faces.
Meribel, France
There are a few different ski resorts in Meribel France (which is in the French alps), and they’re good for the entire family. There are three different valleys to ski in, and an active nightlife to enjoy at the end of the day. There are some great bars and restaurants as well as a variety of accommodations from hotel rooms to apartments.
Riksgransen, Sweden
Riksgransen Sweden is an interesting place to plan a ski trip since it’s north of the Arctic Circle. That means more light from April onward and night skiing late at night. It’s also a very wild area so you might encounter a reindeer or two.
Alyeska, Alaska
Alyeska Alaska receives over 16 meters of snow on average each year, so the conditions are pretty great for skiing. There are a lot of wide open trail faces that also make it a great place for beginners and intermediate skiers.
Zermatt, Switzerland
Zermatt Switzerland is right next to the Matterhorn mountain which of course provides some pretty great views for your ski days. The resort is on the pricy side, but the skiing is pristine. It’s also a popular area for climbing and anything else you might want to do on a mountain.
St Anton, Austria
St Anton in Austria has some great skiing and it also has some great partying, so you will be busy around the clock at this location. There are multiple villages in the area where you can stay.
Telluride, Colorado, USA
Telluride in Colorado is a great place to ski in the U.S. The village in Telluride feels like an old cowboy town, and the ski slopes are perfect for skiing. Telluride also hosts a great film festival.
Whistler, Canada
Whistler in Canada gets a lot of snow all winter long, and the resort life is some of the best. It’s actually the largest skiable area in North America with 8,000 acres over two mountains. That’s part of the reason the area hosted the 2010 winter Olympics.
Murren, Switzerland
Murren Switzerland has quite a few different ski resorts to choose from, and some very cute villages.
Wow there really are a lot of places to ski
Nice list, some of these are on my goal lists for sure
I’d love to hit up some of these right about now
