Nude beaches are certainly not the norm when it comes to beaches, but they do exist out there. Here are some of the top nude beaches in the world.
Little Beach
Technically nude sunbathing is illegal in Hawaii but Little Beach in Maui is still a popular spot to do so since the practice is generally not regulated. The strand of beach is private with high shrubs and volcanic rocks.
Haulover Beach
Haulover Beach is north of Miami and is a totally government-sanctioned clothing-optional beach as well as county-run. In addition to being fine with nudity, the beach also has normal public beach offerings like lifeguards and even organized activities like beach volleyball.
Red Beach
Red Beach resort in Crete is became a popular spot for nude sunbathing in the 1960’s. It is allowed to be nude everywhere at the location besides the dining room. There are also ancient caves to discover as well as washups from shipwrecks.
Praia do Pinho
Praia do Pinho (or Pinho Beach) is located in Santa Catarina in Brazil. In 1987 it became the first sanctioned nude beach, and while it’s allowed to be either naked or clothed the people who are regulars there say that “clothing is not an option.”
Hedonism II
Hedonism II is a nude resort on the 7 mile white sand beach of Jamaica. Clothing is optional in the entire place, but the beach area is separated out for those who want to go nude and those who would prefer to remain clothed. The resort has a pretty big party scene and encourages a playful approach which makes it different than a lot of other nude beaches.
Samurai Beach
Samurai Beach is located a couple hours north of Sydney and requires a bit of hiking to get into. The half mile nude beach is generally lively and there are often games going on like volleyball, tug-of-war, and Frisbee.
Ocho Rios
Ocho Rios in Jamaica is an all-inclusive couples resort with the private nude beach Tower Isle. The rest of the complex has a normal dress code, so the nudity is kept to the beach.
Wreck Beach
Wreck Beach in Canada is named for the time that it has a shipwreck on it, but these days the beach is known for its nudity. The beach was Canada’s first government-sanctioned, clothing-optional beach and it can get pretty lively.
Cap s’Agde
Cap s’Agde is a large tourist resort in the French Mediterranean that is essentially its own nude city. In fact going nude there is not an option, it is actually mandatory.
