Travel can be pretty romantic when it’s done right, and one of the ways to do it right is to decide on a destination that tends to be a step ahead of the rest in the romance department in general. Here are some of the more romantic places to visit that will give you some serious travel inspiration.
Paris
Is it cliche to say Paris France? We don’t care, because it’s true. There is something about the vibe of Paris that makes even walking down an alley feel romantic. Part of it is the old architecture filled with history, part of it is the language, part of it is the refinement, and part of it is the pace of sitting at cafes or by the river drinking wine and eating delicious food. It’s hard not to have a romantic time in Paris, even if you’re wandering around on your own.
Puerto Vallarta
Puerto Vallarta Mexico is a very romantic place as well. There are beautiful beaches, some of the best restaurants in the entire country, and close to the old Mexico. You can also take boat rides to the fishing village Boca de Tomatlan to see a different way of living in the area.
Venice
Venice Italy was made for romance. It’s almost impossible not to immediately think of gondolas on the canals when you think of Italy, and what’s more romantic than that? Venice is also full of an old mystery that is evident in its architecture and hidden passageways, plus you can’t beat Italian food over candlelight in the romance department.
Bora Bora
Bora Bora in the French Polynesia is considered one of the top honeymoon destinations in the world. It is remote and extremely gorgeous, with a reputation for having extremely kind locals. The places to stay in Bora Bora are all fantastic and cater the private, yet well attended to way of travel.
Buenos Aires
Buenos Aires Argentina is where the tango was invented, so you know romance is in the air. Buenos Aires tends to have pretty reasonable prices when it comes to food and nightlife, which is great for traveling on a budget when you still want to feel like you’re indulging.
Puerto Rico
Puerto Rico in the Caribbean has incredibly beautiful beaches but also has lush hiking in the hills that lead to unexpected sites like gorgeous waterfalls. There is a ton of Spanish tradition there and a lot of the island feels very preserved as the way it’s been for years. Since Puerto Rico is a commonwealth of the United States you don’t even need a passport to go.
Savannah
Savannah Georgia has a bit of that slow southern vibe which can help even the busiest person start to relax on a vacation, which is necessary for romance. There are a ton of bed and breakfast hotels in Savannah which provides a cozy and intimate stay. The historic district in Savannah is full of must sees.
I would agree that many of these romantic spots you don’t actually need to be on a date or with a loved one, these places are truly romantic just existing on their own!
